📖 it’s a love story by annabel monaghan | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ monaghan is an auto-buy author for me. i LOVED the family in this novel, i want to be apart of their community!!!! this was good, but not my favorite of hers. nora goes off script is at the top of that list.
📖 cutthroat by octavia grant | ⭐⭐⭐.75 a tiktok about this book had me SEATED. a husband cheats and the wife gets revenge? yes pls thank ya! and less than 200 pages, perfect for those of us with book goals.
📖 finding claire fletcher by lisa regan | ⭐⭐⭐.5 this book was just okay for me - the second half really dragged, but worth sticking around for the wrap up.
📖 betrayed by rebecca sharp | ⭐⭐⭐.75 a security romance always eats! this was good but not memorable.
📖 wrecked palace by catherine cowles | ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 another auto-buy author for me! i’m making my way through cowles’ back list. in a related comment, i started the next installment of this series and already dnf’d it because the character annoyed me - on to the next!
📖 left of forever by tarah dewitt | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ i LOVE a second chance romance when done right. this was soooo good!!!!! i’ve been shouting from the rooftops about it to anyone who would listen. i need more people to talk about this book with, so bookish friends get to work pls. this is my favorite book of the year so far.
summer tbr
my tbr is getting a bit unwieldy! i’ve narrowed down the list to these eight books i really want to read for the summer. putting together a seasonal tbr feels more attainable, plus i do some of my best reading by the pool (now if only it would stop raining…)
my reading goal for the year is 100, i’m only at 33 as of this email, so i’m hoping to kick it into overdrive this summer. you might notice all of these are physical books, which is abnormal for me. i’m staunchly a kindle girl most days, but something about a physical book while laying by the pool screams summer to me and right now i am craving those vibes.
something that was a surprise for me when pulling together my summer tbr was how many fantasy novels i had on the docket. of all the books i’m most excited for onyx storm, which came out early this year but i have literally been saving it for the summer! it just feels right and i’m so excited to dig in.
recent purchases
aside from the book front, i’ve been doing a little bit of summer shopping and there are some things i’m super excited about:
pink bose headphones | i am a bose girly ~4ever! they just dropped a couple of items in pink and i had to get my hands on the over ear headphones. the noise canceling on them is the best!!
aritzia clientele sale | i love when this sale comes around, this time i got some basics. i love their leggings and hoodies in particular! i generally only purchase from aritzia when there is a sale.
june favorites
teva midform sandals | i have never had teva’s but these are so fabulous! and so comfy right out the box. the color ‘lion’ is my perfect nude. i got mine on poshmark so definitely search around for them. forehead kisses to whoever designed these.
broma bakery brown butter chocolate chip cookies | these are INCREDIBLE. so decadent. they live rent free in my head.
wet n wild color icon blush in pearlescent pink | spilling my tea… if i have blush on 9 times out of 10 it is one. less than $4 and i have repurchased it over and over. most importantly not ashy at all!!!!
